NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR:
I have never been good with words, and I find that ironic as I have directed a show entirely engrossed in the theme of language. But hopefully you will understand my love for this project while I stumble through my personal dictionary.
The more we grow up, the farther we grow away from our childhood. We start to build these walls between youth and adulthood—but these lines should be blurred. When looking at our past, we realize that even the seemingly small, mundane moments (like a spelling bee) have had a serious impact on who we are.
"If you carry your childhood with you, you never grow older." - Tom Stoppard
As you watch this show, I hope you are reminded of those moments in your past that have taken you where you are today. Life builds upon itself, so don't take the small moments for granted.
