Wilton Children's Theater

 Crew Who's Who

  • Skip Ploss, DIRECTOR

Skip returns again, to WCT for this, his Fourteenth show here. Skip has been a Miller-Driscoll School Para for 17 years where he co-advises MDTV. He is the author/illustrator of 7 books for students. Skip's been 'playing' in theater for over 30 years in the Wilton area. Work at the Wilton Playshop began in 1991 as an actor. Then as a producer, director, set and graphic designer, board member, and President. He has directed, written, designed, crewed, and/or appeared in over 35 productions in Fairfield County. His favorite directorial credits include Arsenic and Old Lace, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, 1776, The Foreigner, The Nerd, Wenceslas Square, and all the shows he’s directed at WCT. He returns to the swamps of Dulac once more for this wonderful tale of diversity, inclusion, and acceptance. A big thanks to Susan and Ananda, Barbara for her phenomenal work, yet again, and a huge welcome to our outstanding new choreographer Wilber Escobar!

  • Barbara Speare, MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Barbara is thrilled to return to WCT in person (!), delighted to work once again with Skip, and gives a warm welcome to Will. She is most grateful to the fabulous interns, parents, crew, and especially, the wonderful producers, Ananda and Susan, for all they do. Many thanks to the WCT Board for this opportunity. Originally hailing from the west, Barbara earned her BFA at Stephens College, MM from the University of Southern California, and has performed extensively from coast to coast. Upon moving to Wilton with her husband Jon, she directed the annual musical at Our Lady of Fatima Regional School for 15 years ranging from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to Guys and Dolls. She continues to perform in the area, including as music director for Wilton Playshop’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. To this enormously talented cast – thanks for your very hard work and for making my job much easier. Break a Leg!
