Wilton Children's Theater

  PRESIDENT'S LETTER

First of all -- we are so happy to be back in Middlebrook putting on a full production!!

For more than 40 years, Wilton Children’s Theater (WCT) has been dedicated to building community through theater. WCT children develop acting skills, stage presence, and self-esteem as well as enjoy the camaraderie of working with children of varying ages in a nurturing, enriching and creative environment.

What a joy it has been to watch the community of this cast build over the past weeks.  Thanks to our caring and capable producers Ananda Ward and Susan Onthank who gracefully managed the production team and who served as “mom on duty” for the cast for the past 11 weeks. They have made contingency plans, pivoted and pivoted again. I am grateful for their dedication, creativity and sense of humor.

Our professional staff, Skip Ploss, Barbara Speare, and Wilber Escobar  work tirelessly to bring out the best in each child.  Thanks to them for all they do to give every  cast member a chance to shine.

Thank you to our board members who helped build sets, sew costumes, create props, make up our talented cast, promote the show and sell tickets!! Clarissa Cannavino, Marie Demasi, Megan McWeeney, Danielle Westling, Vivian Lee-Shiue, Nina DePeugh and Lara Paschalidis.  You all make it look easy and I am so grateful to each and every one of you for your commitment to WCT.

This production would not be possible without the dedication of all the parent volunteers. Thanks to all those who sewed, hammered, painted, glue gunned, cooked, applied make up, crafted, and had any hand in creating the visual treat you are about to experience.

We are also indebted to our high school volunteers.  Each year I am amazed by their professionalism, dedication and love for theater.  You all give me hope that the world is in good hands.

Thank you for your support of Wilton Children’s Theater.  Don’t forget to join us for Disney's Beauty and the Beast which opens in March!   And look for the chance to sign up for Summerstage and Summerstage, Jr.!

We hope that you enjoy the show!

Jen Kepner,

WCT President
