Singin' in the Rain - November 22 - November 24, 2024

Wilton Children's Theater

 PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Welcome to the Wilton Children’s Theater (WCT) fall production of Singin’ in the Rain Jr.! For 48 years, WCT has been dedicated to building community through theater. WCT cast members develop acting skills, stage presence, and self-confidence, while fostering friendships across grade levels in an inclusive and creative environment.

Over the past 10 weeks of rehearsal, it has been a joy to watch this cast become a family while introducing them to a classic show. We started with 41 talented individuals and when the curtain goes up, we’ll see a stage full of stars! The magic of musicals!! Thank you to our tirelessly devoted, creative, professional staff, Skip Ploss, Wilber Escobar, and Barbara Speare, who give each cast member a chance to shine.

Thanks to our thoughtful and remarkable producers who went above and beyond and gave up countless hours to be with the cast--first time producer, Melissa Coppola, and WCT alum and veteran producer, Tobin Bassani. These ladies took the helm and helped to build a community among our performers, while following up on every little detail to make each performance amazing from start to finish!

Thank you to all 19 volunteer members of our dedicated Board of Directors who work tirelessly to bring you and the children of Wilton four quality theatrical productions each year. A special thank you to Jeanne Costa, Alissa Helgesen, Eric Helgesen, Suzanne Jeschke, and Shannon Taliercio who took care of costumes, sets, show promotion and so much more.

This show would not be possible without the support of our entire theater community. Thank you to all of our cast parents who came out to paint, sew, hammer, apply make-up, chaperone, curl hair, decorate, manage our intermission tables, and anything else that was needed to bring this show together. We are also indebted to our high school interns, who find time to assist at rehearsals weekly, despite their busy academic, extracurricular, and personal schedules. Your professionalism, dedication, and commitment are an inspiration to all of our performers.

I would also like to show my heartfelt gratitude to our generous patrons for your overwhelming support of Wilton Children’s Theater. We are pleased to recognize each of our patrons in this program-please take a moment to review the list. These donations enable us to provide much needed scholarships each year.

Now we invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy Singin’ in the Rain Jr.!

Sincerely,

Mandy Dugan

WCT President
