Skip Poss, Director
Skip's been involved in community theater for over 30 years in lower Fairfield County. He’s worked at the Wilton Playshop, Westport Community Theater, Musicals at Richter, and Town Players of New Canaan. He’s been an actor, set designer, director, board member, and president (of The Wilton Playshop). He has directed, written, designed, crewed, and/or appeared in over 35 productions in Fairfield County. His favorite directorial credits include Arsenic and Old Lace, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, 1776, The Foreigner, The Nerd, Wenceslas Square, and the many musicals he’s directed over 14 years with Wilton Children’s Theater. Outside the theater, Skip has been a Special Education Paraprofessional at Wilton’s Miller-Driscoll School for 18 years. He is the author/illustrator of 7 books for students available on Amazon and locally at Wild Child.
Barbara Speare, Music Director
Barbara is thrilled to return to WCT and delighted to work with Skip and Wilber. She is most grateful to the fabulous interns, parents, crew, and especially, the wonderful producers, Melissa and Tobin. Many thanks to the WCT board for this opportunity. Originally hailing from the west, Barbara earned her BFA at Stephens College, MM from the University of Southern California, and has performed extensively from coast to coast. Upon moving to Wilton, Barbara directed the annual musical at Our Lady of Fatima Regional School for 15 years, and has been the music director for over 25 productions locally including the Wilton Playshop. She is grateful to her husband, Jon, for his support.
Wilber Escobar, Choreographer
Wilber Escobar returns for his fifth show with WCT. He studied Musical Theatre and Dance at the University of Houston; then moved to NYC to pursue a career in the arts. He has performed in, directed, and choreographed various shows nationally and internationally ranging from community groups to professional companies. He continues to work independently sharing the love of dance and musical theater. When not involved in the arts, he works as a fitness trainer teaching various fitness formats.
Brooke Burling, Set Designer
Brooke has been set designer on a number of WCT productions. He spent over 15 years in LA in feature film production. He has been the Executive Director and resident set designer for Two Planks Theater Company and has technical directed/set design at Norwalk Community College. He is currently Managing Director of the Theater of the Performing Arts at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.
Jim Durkin, In Phase Audio, Sound Design/Implementation
The 2024-2025 season marks the 36th season for In Phase Audio with WCT. In Phase Audio (IPA) provides on-location sound systems for diverse applications, including all types of music, theater, public speaking, festivals, and sporting events. Although the firm covers a wide geographic area, IPA spends much of its time in Wilton operating sound systems at Middlebrook and Wilton High School graduations and other school events, as well as the Wilton Memorial Day Parade, and WCT Summerstage. Jim, Cotter, Lou, John and the entire crew at IPA look forward to another great performance with WCT.
Craig Gehr, LX Lighting, LLC, Lighting Design/Implementation
Craig has been working as a lighting designer for concerts, dance, theater, and political events for over twenty years. He has been working with WCT for over twenty years and is looking forward to another successful performance with the group. Craig is the proud owner of LX Lighting, LLC.
