Young Oak Kim Academy

 To Our Departing Eighth Graders

NAYELLI

There would be no play if it wasn't for your dedication, determination, and stubbornness.  Take that with you into ninth grade and beyond and you'll go far. Everyone who crosses your path will be far the better for having your unstoppable passion in their lives.

JESSY D.

Over this past year that I've gotten to know you, I've watched your immense gifts as a writer and a performer explode. Do the world a favor and don't hide those gifts from them.  Brilliance like yours deserves to shine on everyone.

JESSICA C.

The ease at which you are exceptional is a thing to behold -- especially when you show up to let us see it. The secret is to find a way to let that exceptionalism drive you through every day, no matter what. If you can do that, you will be unstoppable.

ASHLEY

Inside that shy exterior is a powerful, brilliant woman -- don't keep her locked away. It's not fair to keep the real you a secret from everyone else.

SARAH

The devotion and determination you've shown the past few weeks has been truly remarkable. I'm so grateful I've gotten to see you be amazing.

MIA

While I've known you less time than anyone else in the play, I can confidently say you are one of the most remarkable kids I've ever met. Your attention to detail, determination to be excellent, and, most of all, great heart will serve you well wherever you go in life -- don't ever let them fade.

ALLISSON

You've been like a right hand during the process of making the play, and I could not be more grateful. You're mature beyond your years, thoughtful and compassionate to everyone around you, and, possibly most of all -- unendingly kind. Thank you for being awesome.

JOHN NATHAN

You brighten every room you're in, you bring a smile to every face you greet. You fill hearts by simply being yourself. Everyone who knows you is extremely lucky to have met you -- I feel doubly-so to have been your teacher.

Sincerely,

Mr. Fialkov
