Grease School Version - March 27 - March 30, 2019

Centennial High School

 Director's Notes

"Grease is the word that you heard, it's got groove it's got meaning! "  Boy, does it ever!  This group of kids have got to be the most talented group of young people that I have ever had the pleasure to work with.  The cast and crew of this show, have never ceased to amaze me, every day that we work together.  So much talent, dedication, and pure passion for the art!  I loved every moment of working with them on this fabulous show.  It will be bitter sweet when they take their final bows.  I know we have some extremely talented seniors in this show, and it will be both exciting to see them go off to conquer their futures, and sad to bid them farewell.  A sincere and heartfelt thank you to each and every cast member for giving me your all every day! You made my work an absolute pleasure!

To our hardworking, dedicated techs, and to Tania Webb for helping us in countless ways in bringing this production from the page to the stage! They have built an amazing set, created magical light plans, created/found/borrowed hundreds of props, costumes and set pieces, sound effects and more.  I could not...would not have been able to do this show without them.  I am so very thankful for their tireless hours of work, and for putting up with all my wants and needs, and for following through and amazing me more every day!

To my two Student Directors, Brett Puppilo and Cameron Moll and to my wonderful Stage Manager, Shayla Smith, thank you for helping me to keep this huge production moving forward in such a fun and professional way!  You three are very good at what you do, and I hope you all continue onward in the show production industry.  I appreciate all of your hard work. Special shout out to Shayla Smith, for keeping me all organized and prepared! I also would like to thank Holly Shaffer for her countless hours she dedicated to making sure all of our cast were well costumed, in two or more costumes for all forty cast members.  That is no easy feat, and she did it with grace and professionalism!

To my fellow directors, Becky Larkin, Mitch Gabel, and to our choreograper, Carlee Bumgardner, what a beautiful, exciting, exhilerating show we've made together, thank you for your vision in helping bring this show to fruition.  I think we all should be so proud of this spectacular show!! I know I am!!!

To Courtney Lohuis and Marguerite Madison, thank you for all of all the trips to Lowes, Home Depot, Star Costume, and for all the tasks big and small that you did.  I know that much of our set/show is thanks to your help in getting us all of our materials!  I appreciate you both so very much!

To our orchestra, and to our featured dancers, thank you so much for brigning even more beauty and talent into our production.  We love having you as part of our production team and we could not have done it with out you! Your talent and skill never cease to amaze me!!

To my husband and kids for allowing me the time needed to create this show!  I love you and I miss you. I will be home soon...just a few more shows!

Finally, to you our patrons, I thank you for joining us this evening.  If you have a family member in this show, thank you so very much for allowing her/him the time needed to get this show production ready!  We hope you enjoy our show!  Now we ask that you sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!!!

The Director,

Lara Carter
