A Christmas Story, The Musical - November 18 - November 20, 2022

Childrens Theater of Southern Maryland

 End Notes

Note From The Director:

"Happy Holidays, everyone!!" Thank you for coming out to support this incredible cast and crew of our VERY first full production by the Children's Theatre of Southern Maryland!!

I know I speak for many of you when I tell you that the original film, A Christmas Story, plays on constant repeat at our house during the days leading up to Christmas. It's become a staple, classic holiday tradition for so many, and to be able to bring it to life here on stage for you has been nothing short of phenomenal.

When we first dove in, we realized that this show is a HUUUUUGE undertaking! Unlike most musicals, this one has one big "production number" after another, where the majority of the cast is involved and there are multiple moving parts. The music is complicated, the choreography is intricate, and the actors and crew members' heads have been spinning, but the result is some fantastic eye and ear candy. Ralphie and his wimp cronies are at it in full swing, and you'll witness the story we've come to know SO well is even more colorful, hilarious and heartwarming as it's presented live on stage!

I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for the parent/guardian volunteers who helped during a super crazy rehearsal schedule. Without your presence, we wouldn't have been able to pull this thing off. I'd also like to tip my hat to the entire production crew...everyone worked tirelessly through 3 rehearsals a week, the flu, and insane fall schedules. THANK you, team. You're completely incredible.

And now, we triple-dog dare you to sit back, relax, and enjoy this trip back to Christmas in 1940!!
