George Edgar Mansur Jr., 89, passed peacefully on April 20, 2019. Born and raised in Phoenixville, George was an active member of the community, having served on numerous committees and having received many awards for his tireless work and dedication. As a founding board member of Firebird Theatre, George was instrumetal in opening doors and helping secure our home at The Colonial Theatre and Phoenixville School District, as well as mentoring us in growing our mission for a children's community theatre. 

It is with great pleasure that the Firebird Theatre Board of Directors has named the George E. Mansur Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund will provide the opportunity for children and teens to participate in all aspects of musical theatre, regardless of financial hardship. We will be forever grateful to George for his commitment to the arts, to Firebird Theatre and to the greater Phoenixville community.
