Mr. Marc Donovan (Director) earned a B.F.A. in Theatre from Montclair State University, and has spent much of his career performing in theatre, film, television and radio. Perhaps best known for his role as Sheriff Ramsey on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, Mr. Donovan has also been featured in such television shows as Blue Bloods, The Young and the Restless, Zero Hour, and All My Children, and appeared alongside Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood in the feature film The Trust. A few years ago he concluded a 4-year run playing the role of Sam Phillips in the Las Vegas production of Million Dollar Quartet, and has treaded the boards at Walnut Street Theatre, People's Light, Ogunquit Playhouse, Forestburgh Playhouse, West Virginia Public Theater, Cider Mill Playhouse, 12 Miles West Theatre Company, The Theater Project and Luna Stage. Mr. Donovan has also appeared in and/or lent his voice to over 40 television and radio commercials. This is Mr. Donovan’s first year in Florence Township, offering theatre classes at both FTMHS and Riverfront. He also teaches and directs at Theatre Horizon, Haddonfield Theater Arts Center, Acting Antics, and Kathy Wickline Film & TV Camps. Mr. Donovan is also the loving husband of a fellow educator and proud papa of two beautiful and extremely spirited young children.
Mr. Joshuah Carlani (Technical Director/Programs) earned his B.S. in English Education and his M.A.T. in Special Education from The College of New Jersey. This is his 13th production with Florence Townships Schools, starting when he was in 8th grade and continuing until now, volunteering with the Riverfront School for nine of them. Mr. Carlani has been an avid supporter of the arts and enhancing the musical programs in both Riverfront and the High School. He wishes to thank Miss Lisa Jones, who inspired him and ignited his passion for musical theatre, without her he may have never had the opportunity to start learning. This is his final show as a Technical Director in Florence Schools and he hopes that his impact will have a lasting impression on the students and his fellow Creative Team! Mr. Steven Obetz (Vocal Director) earned his B.M. in Music Education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York in 2018. This is his 1st year at Florence where he teaches 7th and 8th music classes, the Cadet Band, and the Riverfront Choir. He also works with the marching band as the Assistant Director. Mr. Obetz is also a member of the music content team for Educational Testing Service where he develops the AP Music Theory exam and study materials as well as the music teacher licensing exams for multiple states.
Mrs. Ann Croley (Instrumental Director/Conductor) earned her B.M. in Music Education from Susquehanna University as an alto saxophone major. This is her 16th year teaching music at FTMHS, was assistant marching band director for 5 years and has been the head Marching Band Director for the past 10. She was simultaneously the Stage and Vocal Director for the FTMHS musical for 6 years, the Vocal Director for another 7 years, and is enjoying her 2nd year as the Instrumental Director. She would like to thank Marie, Jacob, Dylan, and Jay for their support and for being her artistic inspiration. To the pit band: you are an extremely talented group of young musicians, and I am honored to have had the chance to work with you!
Mr. Travis Breen (Choreography/Costuming) earned his B.F.A in Jazz/Theater Dance from the University of The Arts in Philadelphia. This will be his 2nd year at Florence teaching dance at both Florence High School and Riverfront. His choreography has been seen on Spirit Cruise Lines, Sandcastle’s New Year's show in Guam, Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Philadelphia's Annual Avenue of the Arts. Additionally, he choreographed productions of "Godspell," "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," "Camelot," "Crazy For You," and "Two by Two" for York Little Theatre; "Oliver" for William Penn Performing Arts High School; "Bells Are Ringing," "Guys and Dolls," "Into the Woods" and "Ragtime" for Poly Prep in Brooklyn, NY and “Mary Poppins” Florence High School.
