The Curse of the Bard - April 27 -

Los Altos High School

 End Notes

Director's Note: When the students first suggested this show, they looked at me and said, "This is you!" It's pretty fun to direct a high school show about directing a high school show, and it's even better when the premise is that it's about a teacher who comes back to her school after 20 years. I graduated from Los Altos in 2003. I find it hilarious that this show is now a "period piece" and my incredible costume designers are looking at old pictures of me as research. These actors and technicians dove into this silly farce with the enthusiasm it deserved. Our matra was to "lean into the cheese"! We drew inspiration from the early 2000's Disney Channel and the fabluous produciton of The Play That Goes Wrong. We also wanted to bring these larger than life chacters to this specific stage. This meant that we took an immersive take to the staging. This also meant that students had to really create fully realized characters that move throughout this space as young high school students would. We hope you enjoy the show!
