When we announced that our “small” musical this school year was going to be MARY POPPINS JR we knew we were in for quite the undertaking. We could never begin to thank all of the people for helping us pull this off, but a few of the special folks who deserve shout outs are listed below. (We apologize in advance for anyone left off the list).
Special thanks to the following:
Heather Gregg-Wilson, Dani Ritacco, Kim Hickman, Christa Wicks, and Bethany Zeppetelle; for decorating our lobby so extravagantly, running so much of our front of house operations, as well as being all around go-fers for this show!
Mike Williams and Heather Taft, for retrieving and distributing so much of our printed advertisements for this production.
Donna Vara, for donating so much of your time and effort to costume our cast so exquisitely.
Davina Potter, for working behind the scenes so diligently to make sure our student accounts and communication system are running smoothly
April Walden, Amy Ansbro & Emily Love for the lovely & adorable star grams.
Evan and Stacey Sparkman, for pushing popcorn and the other goodies to our patrons.
Susan Williams, for outfitting our cast and crew with some really cool MP attire they will be proud to sport for years to come.
To any parent/guardian who donated waters, snacks, supplies, or your time, thanks for taking care of these very appreciative young men and women.
Gene Seese, Fine Arts Department Chair, for being very supportive and for letting us use the Choir Room for rehearsals!
Randy Herrin, Fine Arts Assistant Principal, for your support and continuing to see the value in the work these students put in.
John Hutchinson & Jamie Summerour, NFHS Directorial Team, for your support of the Rising Stars!
Cindy Mills, for being a bookkeeper willing to sort through requests upon requests and countless questions and hours of paperwork to ensure these young Raiders can have the best experiences possible.
To the Rising Stars’ Teacher’s Assistants (Mattie, Julia, and Haylee), for contributing in major ways to this show. It has been a pleasure to work with you and seeing the three of you grow as leaders. It was wonderful to watch you interact with the students and create some memorable moments and special friendships. We are all proud to have had a small part in your training for your future careers in theatre & education!
To the student technicians who’ve joined our production later in the process for their help with set, lights, sound, costumes, & props. We truly appreciate our techies!
Lastly, and most importantly, thanks to the Rising Stars Musical Theatre students for pouring yourselves into the world of Mary Poppins. Your work ethic and the desire to make this a wonderful Rising Stars show makes us so proud! It has been a pleasure getting to know each and every one of you and on behalf of the MP Directorial Staff, we look forward to seeing you in future North productions!
-Barbara Macko, Addison Walden, and David Gunter, Supercalifragilistic Directorial Staff of MARY POPPINS JR.
