82nd Annual OM Show: A Musical at the Museum - April 14 - April 15, 2023

OM Keystone Association

 Directors Notes

For 78 years the Older Members Association staged the annual OM show…my first time in the cast I was 4 years old in 1969.  My mentor, Al Jones was the director that year and the show was named “Kaleidoscope” … it was at that point in my life that I knew I loved performing on stage, and it was a family tradition as my mother and brother were also in the cast. I returned to the show every year after, well into my college years and beyond. During my short times away from the show I was always involved in the theatre or in bands.

In 2010 I brought my daughter Brianna into the cast so she could experience the family tradition. That’s the special thing about the annual OM Show, it’s the longest running variety show in the country and the tradition is strong for many families in the Bristol community. It also happens to be the largest fundraiser for our organization.

In 2019 the Older Members Association and the Women’s Keystone Auxiliary merged our groups together to form the OMKeystone Association and we announced our 79th show, “Raise You Up.” We were well into the rehearsal for the show when the Covid pandemic shut us down. With only 4 weeks left before we moved to the stage we went dark.

At that moment I knew we needed to find a way to keep the tradition going and continue to fulfill our mission of supporting the club. The age of the virtual video shows began and we had to create music videos for three years.

You can imagine our excitement that we are able to be back, “Live in Living Color” with our 82nd OM Show, “A Musical at the Museum" tonight. This show features the best of what we had to offer from the 2020 show that was shut down. It also includes songs we added specifically for this year.

As we move this year to a new venue and offer a dinner theater experience, our hope is to continue to regrow our cast to pre Covid numbers over the next few years. Our goal is to continue this show for many years to come with the hope that we inspire kids to love theater the way I have.

Thank you for your continued support of the Annual OM Show.
