 Senior Speeches

Nancy Abode, Nancy is somebody from whom you can constantly learn from. For the past seven years of our friendship, I've learned many things about friendship and empathy. Nancy radiates kindness to all, and we are so lucky to have known her for so long. I'm sad to see her go, but I know she'll achieve greatness and, more importantly, happiness in everything she does. Nancy is the type of friend everyone deserves: witty, kind, intelligent, and talented. To more walks, sweet treats, and late-night gossip, I'll always know where to find you, and you'll always know where to look. Written by: Sophia Guerrero, Grade 11.

Franchesca Alejo, Franny, you are truly one of a kind. From the moment we met, I knew you were special. Your kindness and talent shine through in everything you do. We've shared so many incredible moments together. From playing french horn together to screaming songs in your car. You've been my rock, my go-to person for advice and support. Your confidence and willingness to help me be better have made a lasting impact on me. As we go our separate ways, know that you'll always be in my heart. Princeton is lucky to have you, but I'll miss you dearly. Thank you for being the amazing person you are and my biggest inspiration and role model. Go Tigers! Written by: Maalika Mehta, Grade 9.

Sarah Byrne, Sarah, you’re one of the most talented people I know. From seeing you everyday during the soccer season to playing with you here in Pit Band, you’ve always been my favorite senior. I’ll never forget that day we dressed up for Adam Sandler day during soccer practice and the time we tried to do handstands on the field before a game. I’ve always looked up to you not only because of your soccer skills and musical talent, but for your sweet personality. Without you next year is going to be hard to adjust to, but I know that you’ll do great in college and all your future endeavors. Thank you so much for being such a great role model and friend and good luck at Ohio state! Written by: Chrysta Thomas, Grade 9.

Grace Curry, Grace, I don’t even know where to start. From being a role model and an amazing leader at cheer to having some insane vocals, you have always brought 100% to anything you do. You are such an inspiration to all the littles (as a camp counselor or captain) and OBHS won’t be the same without you. (You’re literally our news women) I’m so in awe of all you’ve been able to leave your mark on and I know college is going to be no different. I love you so so much and can’t wait to see the great things you’ll do! Written by: Ella Reardon-Rizzo, Grade 11.

Christopher Dean, Chris I’ve known since I was in Kindergarten. You used to read me comic books on the bus to Roosevelt. It’s weird to see you about to graduate. It’s been fun doing Pit Band these last two years. You and Willy always make it enjoyable. I’m speaking for the Sun brothers when I say you were a big inspiration for them when it comes to playing the saxophone. I know you’ll go far Chris and it’s been really fun knowing you. Landon Baugh, Grade 11.

Jack DiFigila, Jack, you are a great percussionist and honestly, you confuse me how you manage to play so many instruments so quickly. You really make everything come together when you play. From the two years I've been playing with you, I can say you’re seriously one of the best percussionists I've heard. Thank you for playing with both the Wind Ensemble and the Pit. Written by: Micheal Lewis, Grade 11.

Ava DeAngelis, I can't remember a time in my life when Ava and I weren't friends. She gave me the best friend that every girl dreams of. There aren't enough words in the dictionary to express my gratitude towards her. I have watched her grow into the most gorgeous, intelligent, funny, and talented girl there is. There is nothing Ava can't do. Whether it's art, or even science, she is perfect at it. My forever lab partner, book buddy, and overall sister. This girl is going to go so far in life, and I cannot wait to be there to see it. Written by: Brooklyn Matt, Grade 12.

Willy Henry, Willy your performance today was great it's been fun and enjoyable playing band with you for the past 2 years it's hard seeing you about to graduate but you've always been a great inspiration for me when it comes to playing the sax I hope you do well in college and go far in life and It's been really fun knowing you.
