Allyson Sawyer
Producer / Director / Costume Designer / Asst. Choreographer
This is Allyson Sawyer's third year at PSHS as theatre director of the PSHS Theatre Company, Troupe #6219. Allyson received her BA and MA in theatre from UCLA's school of Theatre, Film and Television. Last year, Allyson won the Desert Theatre League award for Outstanding Director of a Youth Musical for PSHS's production of "Fiddler On The Roof." Allyson previously taught drama at Margarita Middle School in Temecula, CA before arriving here at PSHS. Allyson has previously worked at Universal Motion Pictures Casting, MTV Programming, and served as a production asst. at Karma Kollective (a music video production company). Currently, Allyson coaches cheer at PSHS as well as assisting with the mascot program at California Baptist University. Allyson has had many years of mascot training both at CBU and UCLA by performing as Lance the Lancer and as Joe and Josie Bruin. This production will be Allyson's 7th production as director and is looking forward to many more.

Dr. Jason Powell - Ed.D., M.Mus., BME.
Musical Director / Conductor
Jason is the Director of Strings at PSHS, where he teaches the Classical Guitar Ensembles, the Orchestral Strings Programs, and A.P. Music Theory. We are very proud of these programs as PSHS is the only HS in the Coachella Valley to have such programs. Jason has earned his B.M.E. in Music Education in Classical Guitar with a minor in Percussion from the University of Redlands in 2007, his M.Mus in Music Education from Boston University in 2011, and his Doctorate in Educational Justice and Leadership from the University of Redlands in 2015. Jason remains an active musician in our community, performing with the Joshua Tree Phil-Harmonic (violin II), the Desert Chamber Orchestra (violin II), and the Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church (guitar & percussion). He also performs in the bi-yearly PSHS musicals and is also the recipient of several awards including Outstanding Teacher at Palm Springs High School (2012), and an Induction into the C.O.D. Hall of Fame.
