Welcome to the Family!
I’ve said it for years - you join this program, you are joining a family. We are a little bit crazy; a little bit weird. Some of us are flat out bizarre. There will be tons of laughter, maybe some tears, and always a ridiculous amount of singing and dancing. By entering the theatre this weekend, we welcome you to our community - to our family.
It never ceases to amaze me what this incredible group of young men and women can accomplish. In this cast, we have AP and Honors students, multi-sport athletes, veteran performers (some in their 3rd show this year!), and actors taking the stage for the first time. There are performers that managed to successfully juggle over 15 hours a week of rehearsal, studying for exams, college audtions, SATs, a part-time job, and family. Passion drives these young artists in ways that some will never comprehend. I am endlessly proud of them and honored to work in a district that values a well-rounded student.
I am truly grateful for the team on this show. David and Jen - we met at some of our lowest times, and prove that hard work, dreams, and a whole heck of a lot of determination can lead to some of the best times in our lives. Abby, you are a powerhouse - you jumped in and brought years of cobwebbed ideas to life. Peter and Chris - you both took my crazy idea and helped create a dream. To Mark, I can't imagine a better partner through this. Our schedules certainly aren't easy, but every day is worth it to "live dreams". Thank you all for helping this dream and vision come to life. Thank you for loving these kids and pushing them for professionalism.
We invite you to live in the joy of this show. Dance with us, clap along with us - you might even shed a tear with us! And if all else fails - “Come sing about love, that draws us lovingly, we beseech thee, hear us”.
