This year, the Robertson County Players' season is dedicated to the memory of Judy Stanley, a founding member of the RCP.
Judy went to Springfield High School and taught at Greenbrier High School and Springfield High School. She was a friend and mentor to many people in Robertson County and in the theater community.
Judy Stanley, Teacher, Mentor and Friend
In the fall of 1969 we had a new Speech and Drama teacher at Greenbrier High. Judy soon became a great teacher and mentor. She had so much spontaneity in class and made learning fun. We all worked hard to please her because of our respect for her. The thing I remember the most was that Judy directed a one-act play that won the state championship. This was just her second year at Greenbrier High School with a group of students that knew very little about acting when she came to the school. This was her first State Championship of several she won over the years of teaching at Greenbrier and Springfield. Over the last several years, I began to call Judy a friend as we worked together on many plays with the RCP. I always felt honored and continued to learn from this wonderful teacher, mentor and friend as I worked alongside her. Judy you will be missed but your legacy and the things you taught will live for many years.
