Director's Note:
Love. Acceptance. Being a part of something bigger than yourself.
These are the themes of this heart fluttering show that has made it touch the souls of those young and old.
It’s message resonated with me when I was in 8th grade here at Sewanhaka High School, and to see it resonate within these halls years later is astounding to me.
It is a show that brings those of every walk of life together to remind us that love of every kind is and should be the driving force of humanity.
It is an honor to bring this story to life in the very place I fell in love with it. I have so many memories in this room with friends singing along to the soundtrack filling our hearts.
To witness these students come together, much like the characters in this show, and take on the major task of being a part of something bigger than themselves, warms my heart in millions of ways. They remind me why I do this for a living.
I hope their hard work, complete with song and dance, gives you the joy and hope you all so utterly deserve.
