  • Carolyn Gillespie

    Director

    Carolyn Gillespie served on the faculty of the University of Michigan-Flint from 1987 to 2011, teaching acting, directing, and literature in the Department of Theatre and Dance where she was honored with several awards for teaching excellence and for her advocacy on behalf of women. Prior to moving to Michigan, she taught at the University of Texas at Dallas and performed professionally. Throughout her career, she has been active in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, traveled the Mediterranean teaching for the Semester at Sea program, and has directed productions at several area theatres and universities. She continues to freelance in retirement. Gillespie holds an undergraduate degree from Marquette University, an MFA in Acting from Stanford, and is a member of Actors’ Equity.

  • Doug Mueller

    Scenic Designer

    Doug received his MFA in Theatrical Design from the University of Michigan and is the lighting designer and technical director at the University of Michigan-Flint Department of Theatre and Dance, where he has overseen lighting and production for nearly 200 plays, musicals and dance concerts over the past 34 years. He also provides lighting and technical production oversight for the Flint Institute of Music’s Nutcracker and the Flint School of Performing Art/Flint Youth Ballet’s Festival of Dance.
